What is The University of Fools Induction Programme?

The idea behind the Induction Programme is to present an avenue to get the student to the core of what they are. There is no intention to impose any kind of belief system, religion or spirituality. It serves only to help us explore and examine the what of who we believe we are so each person can find their own setting out point on their individual journey.

At its foundation, the three core strands- perception, projection, and protection– when woven together the mesh can form a firm grid from which to plan and embark upon whichever life journey we take.

The interweaving is significant. This isn’t a tripod- three distinct pillars supporting our weight individually and in isolation. Each of those strands is flexible in its individuality to the point of being almost fluid and formless, and yet when brought together in an intelligent manner, where each is supported by the other two, a strong mesh begins to form. The more we do to develop those strands- or more accurately develop our awareness of and relationship with those strands- the stronger the platform we can manifest.

This will be evident throughout the programme as many of the topics discussed may be centred upon one particular strand while having its roots in one or both of the others.

For example a paper on body language may on the surface be about projection, but on closer inspection it could be about how we change our outward posture [Projection] as a direct result of an environmental change [Perception] in order to make us more ready to deal with a perceived threat [Protection].

The strength and integrity of our mesh is dependant on how carefully we interweave each strand, and how mindful we are as we progress. Think of it like any other object you would craft lovingly-

It should be fit for purpose, but it should also be about you.

It should speak to you and it should speak of you.

As you weave in the threads of your own experiences, each with their own colours and energies, the project should grow not only in strength but in detail. Like any tapestry, it will become richer the more  intricate the weave becomes.

It is important to recognise that weaving your own mesh takes precedence over any arbitrary timescale of perceived sense of urgency.

The University of Fools Induction Programme is split over four ‘Acts’  but it is no race, and there are no prizes for finishing first. Reward doesn’t come in completing this Induction Programme quickly. It comes from successfully integrating those things it teaches you about yourself into your personal development progression.
